The Power of Spark: Introducing our New Logo and Website!
Announcing our New Look, Based on the Same Inspiring Mission!
By Christine Guthery
Welcome to our new website! This year (2024-25) marks the 15th year of the founding of Spark Kindness. Spark began in 2010, when a group of parents came together to address the new challenge of cyberbullying. At the time, we realized that bullying was not a problem just for schools or parents to solve. Bullying was a community issue that needed a community based solution. Since then, our mission has expanded beyond bullying prevention, to address many challenges that harm children and communities, such as substance use disorder, mental illness, discrimination, and online hate.
As we enter our 15th year, the need for kindness, inclusion, and community has never been greater. Spark is growing, and more committed than ever to serving our community. Levels of loneliness, anxiety, and polarization have been on the rise. At Spark, we continue to believe that KINDNESS - or the power of true compassion in action - has the power to heal and transform our challenges. In fact, it is the most unifying and powerful force available to all of us - regardless of belief or background.
“The symbol of Spark represents three things. First, it’s the light — kindness is bringing light into the darkness. Second, it is fire (and power) — true kindness is justice and it is powerful. And finally, a spark is a catalyst for positive change.”
— Christine Fortune Guthery, Founder and Executive Director of Spark
To honor our 15th year, and move into our next stage of growth and service, our amazing team at Spark has decided to refresh our logo and launch a new website. (We will also be hosting a 15th birthday celebration in March 2025 - stay tuned!) We loved our original logo, which had been created by a student at Framingham State University. We wanted to update the logo, but keep the same elements that inspired the name Spark. (We are grateful to the wonderful team at Minds on Design Lab for the thoughtful design of our logo and site.)

Spark Kindness is not just an organization, it is a movement. For all those who have been on the journey with us over the past 15 years - thank you! To those who are new to us - welcome - you belong here. We are excited that our new logo and website will take us into our next stage of growth and service as we build a kinder world together!
